| GIULIO VERNE Fencing Club, established in 1996 to promote the sport of fencing We mostly fence foil (juniors) and epee (juniors, seniors and veterans).
We are a very friendly and approachable group.
The courses welcome anyone over the age of 6. We have had ages from 6+ to grandparents.
Training can be tailored to accommodate beginners and social fencers to the aspiring national contenders.
we are currently about 60 members plus teachers, mostly young (under
15 years group is the greater).
The club it's a "not profit
association", the parents of the athletes and the fencing teachers are
usually the managers.
All the beginner star with the foil, after 14 years some of them pass
to the epee.
You will have the opportunity to fence against a range of different standards in a welcoming atmosphere.
All Fencers in visit in Rome are welcome to spend a little time with us.
We fence in Giulio Verne technical school
(Piazza
Ezio Tarantelli, 21), on the southern edge of Rome called EUR, just near subway-station “Tordivalle”. EUR is a strange and unexpected suburb of Rome was intended for a Universal Exhibition
(EUR) planned in the 1930s. Now it is dominated by offices and wide boulevards
and now the place is a bit like La Defense in Paris, home to trade shows and miscellaneous companies.

Private Lessons
Private lessons are the ideal way to advance your fencing skills. We are pleased to offer private fencing tuition addressing aspects of your individual fencing style, skill and fitness. Private lessons are available during open fencing or by appointment.

Giulio Verne Scherma are looking for a partner abroad
We are looking for a club abroad to fence together (7-10 days) for
a group of about 10 athletes (12-15 years - foil or/and 16-24 years
epee). Family accommodation or hostel.
Our young athletes are very interest for an experience abroad, also
to improve the language proficiency.
